Black Box 2 is a multi-function interface unit which allows two-way audio devices such as radios, telephones, intercoms and other audio devices to be connected over an IP network. The Cobalt AV interoperable radio provides an interface between conventional audio or intercom equipment and IP infrastructures. It has up to 32 audio ports with RJ45 connectors each of which carry 600 ohm balanced audio input and output. The unit has two Ethernet connections using different IP addresses. One is used to carry the TCP/IP control data and the second carries the RTP voice data. If necessary, these may be multiplexed together via a data switch.
